Fricktured Friday.

“The Luftwaffe wanted to know if, through medical research, doctors could learn to how to “unfreeze a man, to bring him back to life. Dr. Weltz told Dr. Alexander that he and his team of researchers had performed groundbreaking research in this area. Weltz declared that they had in fact made a “startling and useful discovery.” The results, said Weltz, were simply “astounding.”

Dr. Alexander asked, “What kind of results?”

Weltz hesitated to provide details but promised that the U.S army would be very much interested in the knowledge he possessed. Weltz asked doctor Alexander if a deal could be made. Weltz said he was interested in securing a grant with the Rockefeller foundation. Dr. Alexander explained he had no authority with any private-sector foundation and that, before anything else, he needed Weltz to tell him about this so called “astounding” discovery.

This is by far one of the craziest books I have read in my life... Things that seem better suited for a science fiction novel are in fact historical record. I’ve known for sometime about Operation Paperclip, and that the U.S. did some, “questionable”, things after the war to say the least. But making deals with people who were purposely freezing and conducting experiments on LIVE subjects is something straight out of a horror film.

Not only am I horrified by these startling revelations that are revealed in this book. But I’m also extremely curious. If the Nazis had discovered a way to bring a man back to life after freezing to death in between the years of 1933 and 1945, what else did they discover? And how much technology has been hidden from the public?

Just a small excerpt from the book I’m currently reading and some thoughts on it.... I knew that WWII was a time of immense technological discovery, many of which are still shrouded in mystery to this day. But bringing a frozen corpse back to life? That’s science fiction level stuff...
