Fricktured Friday

It has been nearly a month since I posted anything here, and I got to say taking that time off of writing blog posts and drawing so much, was, extremely beneficial... I feel much better, creative wise. Rejuvenated, or something, I feel ready to get back at this and make some changes for the better.

Some days, I’m just not going to post about much of anything, maybe only a sentence or so, and a picture, or drawing.. There were a few days back a couple months back where I was sitting in front of my computer for hours trying to write something... And even if I couldn’t come up with a topic I was really passionate about, I forced myself to write something that I would now consider substandard.

I’m not allowing myself to do that anymore, I want to write about things I’m passionate about, and some days, when I’m supposed to blog I just don’t have anything to I’m write about, and on those days.. Art will reign supreme!

Basically I want this to be fun for me again, not stressful. It was to the point where I just was not enjoying myself, or any of my work here... And I don’t want to stop doing this, but unless I make some changes, I will. So that’s exactly what I’m doing.

All my plans over the last 6 months have just been shot to hell. It happens. And I’m just going to with the flow of it, there’s nothing more I can do. Plus things have been going pretty good lately.

I’m leaving for B.C, to go on a trip.... And try to promote my artwork along the way, among other things, so the next few weeks, maybe longer are going to be pretty busy. I’m looking forward to it, but I also wish that this trip would have worked out the way I was originally planning it too, but like i said. Stuff happens, and there’s no use getting upset about it, we just need to adjust...

So instead of moving to B.C. and heading west for good this summer, I’m going there for a little while... A little bit of a scouting trip if you will, and I’m going to see one of my oldest friends, I’m really looking forward to many aspects of this trip, and I’m only disappointed that I’m not heading out there permanently... Well, not yet, anyway...

But all in all, I’m looking forward to seeing what happens these next few weeks, and seeing where the “flow” takes me. :P

I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to post a longer blog like this over the next few weeks.... But I will be posting pictures of my trip and small updates as I explore the west.

Here’s a small piece to make sure this is still an art blog! :P

Happy Friday everyone, see you soon.

Sincerely, Bret Frick.
