Writing Wednesday

For about the last two years I’ve been working on writing two books. One a fiction book, that I’ve had the idea for, for years. And one a more realistic novel about my family. For quite a while these things took a backseat to other projects, especially my art. But recently I began to work at them more consistently again, and it’s resulted in me writing a few chapters for each over the past few weeks.

I’ve got to say that I really enjoy making up a world in my mind and bringing it to life on paper using only my words, but it’s quite difficult. Although it’s something I enjoy, it takes a considerable amount of energy and time.

And I’ve been putting a lot of time and energy into my art and blogging over the past year. Frankly, I need a bit of a change of pace, just for a little while.

This feeling I’m having towards my art and blog right now really couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m heading away for about a week, and won’t be posting here in that time.

And over this short period I’m going to be taking a break from drawing and writing these types of posts and just focus on my writing my two books for the next 7 days or so.

So, that’s my plan for the next little while here and I’m sticking to it! I’ll probably see you hear next Wednesday, at the very latest next Friday.

Have a good week everybody! Spend it focusing on doing something productive and different. That’s what I’m going to do.

Still, this wouldn’t be an art blog without the art, would it? So here you go... This is a small, really old piece I did some time ago, and my most recent attempt at re-imagining it. I made a small mark right next to it’s tongue however and it basically made me want to rip the picture in half... It still exists right now, but I’m not sure it’ll ever be finished. Regardless, Enjoy!
